Some people wonder if there's life in outer space, and some TV shows have examined what it would like to have aliens living on Earth, like Roswell, the 90's teen drama about aliens keeping a big secret.

On the sitcom3rd Rock from the Sun, four aliens pretended to be humans living on Earth, and they called themselves the Solomon family. Dick (John Lithgow), Sally (Kristen Johnson), Harry (French Stewart), and Tommy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) struggled to fit in, and it was hilarious watching their daily adventures. While most episodes made fans laugh, there are a few that stand out.

10 The House That Dick Built (S4, E15)

There are a lot of funny storylines in this episode, from Tommy crushing on Alissa to Harry and Vicki thinking about starting a family. Harry was terrified that their baby would be an alien like him, and he was so nervous that fans couldn't help but laugh.

The other main storyline, about Sally wanting to live in her own apartment, was more heartwarming than funny since it proved how close this fake family really was. Dick made some big mistakes on the show but he also had moments of sensitivity and emotion.

9 Dick'll Take Manhattan Part 1 (S6, E4)

In this season 6 episode, the Solomons found themselves in a parallel world, and it was a lot of fun seeing them living in New York City.

Tommy was aSaturday Night Livestar and Sally wrote a column about dating and sex. This was one of the funniest3rd Rock from the Sunepisodes, but because it featured a new location and not the aliens' typical apartment, it wasn't quite as hilarious as some of the others. It also had a bit of a sad element, as Dick was searching for his one true love, Mary (Jane Curtain).

8 Fear and Loathing in Rutherford (S6, E2)

Sally Solomon is famous for her ditzy personality and honest quotes. This character really got a chance to shine in the sixth season episode where she and Harry wanted to scare Tommy and Alissa while they watched a horror movie.

It was always entertaining watching the aliens team up, even if this episode didn't really bring anything new to Harry and Sally's dynamic. It still brings some laughs, though, as Dick heard the word "ragamuffin" and got mad, then asked Harry for a dictionary so he could look it up.

7 Two-Faced Dick (S4, E10)

Sally and Dick swapped places in this episode, which makes it one of the funniest episodes of the series.

Since the characters couldn't ever get used to being human beings who lived on Earth, it was even tougher for Sally and Dick to have to act like the other person. They didn't get it right, but since they always acted really strangely, it wasn't super noticeable. If Harry and Sally had swapped places, this episode would be even funnier because Harry had such a loveable, confusing personality and that would have been entertaining to see.

6 The Tooth Harry (S3, E26)

This is one of the most hilarious3rd Rock from the Sunepisodes thanks to the two main storylines.

When Mary was asked to appear in a marketing video for Pendleton State University, Dick became envious and got involved, which of course ended in disaster. Since Dick never understood how to behave himself at the college, this was a priceless plotline. It was also funny watching Harry and Nina (Simbi Khali) go on a date and Harry misunderstand that the tooth fairy gave kids money when they lost a tooth. He figured that if he wanted to sleep with someone, he should pay them $20. This was a perfect example of how the Solomons had no clue about human behavior and daily life.

5 Just Your Average Dick (S3, E22)

Dick Solomon had a quirky quote ready for any situation. The season 3 episode "Just Your Average Dick" is one of the best ones of the whole series since it saw the Solomons pretending to be "normal" and "average."

Of course, no one is really all that normal as everyone has their own quirks and differences that make them beautiful, but Dick, Harry, Tommy, and Sally felt that they should try to fit in. It was a trainwreck and even Mary was upset, realizing that she loved Dick the way that he was. This episode shines because it has a funny premise and a great message.

4 Gobble, Gobble, Dick, Dick (S2, E10)

There are some great Thanksgiving sitcom episodes from the '90s and3rd Rock from the Sun's is right up there.

In a hilarious storyline, the Solomons had no clue what Thanksgiving was. While everyone around them was buying turkeys and getting ready, they were out of the loop. Dick said it was "a national holiday" and Tommy asked if it was "like Big Giant Head Day." Dick said it was like that "except no one gets thrown into the sun."

3 Dick Is From Mars, Sally Is From Venus (S1, E3)

This season 1 episode has some classic quotes from Sally. In one scene, she started crying, and since she was confused about what was going on, she said, "Apparently I'm leaking."

Sally went on a date and when the guy didn't contact her again, she was devastated. This is one of the sitcom's best episodes as it featured the aliens at their best — trying to understand the strange ways of human beings on Earth while being totally confused the entire time. It also found Sally in a typical situation, and it was great watching her try to comprehend being ghosted after a bad date.

2 Post-Nasal Dick (S1, E2)

In the second episode of the series, everyone got sick, and this allowed Sally to look into the sexism inherent in domestic pursuits.

This was the second funniest episode in the series, as the aliens got sick and had no clue what was going on. Sally was making sure that everyone was okay and Tommy said, "Sally, you're amazing. As sick as you are, you keep taking care of us." Sally replied, "Yeah, I know. I don't understand. All I want to do is curl up into a ball, and yet somehow I feel compelled to nurture you. God, what a cruel disease." This exchange perfectly summed up how the aliens were slowly getting used to living on Earth and the problematic gender roles of family and home life.

1 Sensitive Dick (S2, E21)

There are many families on TV comedies that are beloved, and even though the Solomons weren't really human relatives, they really did feel like a classic sitcom family.

It was always fun watching Dick teach his class since he wasn't exactly qualified. This is the most hilarious episode of3rd Rock from the Sunbecause Dick did his best to become a nicer, better person. He got mad at his students and said that they had to write a note letting their families know that they were squandering their education. Later, he had to take a class about being more sensitive, which led to more trouble as he went too far in that direction. Dick was always equal parts hysterical and cold-hearted, and this episode really let him shine.
